Pupcakes

 

Looking for the pawfect dessert for your pupper’s special day? Whether you’re celebrating a gotcha day, birthday, or graduation from training, here’s a special treat they’ll go crazy for!

Yield = 16 pupcakes

Pupcakes:

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour

  • ½ cup old fashioned oats

  • 4 teaspoons baking powder

  • 1 cup organic pumpkin puree

  • ½ cup organic coconut oil or vegetable oil

  • 4 large eggs

  • 3 large carrots, peel and shredded

Frosting:

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, room temperature

  • ½ cup NATURAL peanut butter (double-check it does NOT contain Xylitol)

  • Garnish to top pupcakes

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350F and using regular-size muffin pans, line with paper or tin metal cups

  2. Combine all ingredients, except carrots, in a large bowl. Once mixed, add carrots

  3. Using a large scooper fill muffin cups

  4. Bake 15-20 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cookie times will vary depending on your pans/ovens, check at 15 minutes!

  5. Remove and cool completely on rack

  6. In a medium size mixing bowl using a hand mixer, whip the cream cheese and peanut butter until fluffy

  7. Place your frosting in a piping bag with a medium star tip or in a quart size plastic bag and cut ¼” off one of the bottom corners

  8. Pipe in a circle starting on the outside and rotate bag clockwise toward center.

  9. Top with your favorite dog cookie treat

  10. Bon appetit to all the pups!

Additional Notes: 

  • Can be baked in a small cake pan! Cooking times vary.
